A few small changes can make a big difference in how rested and refreshed you look. Dermal fillers are one of the simplest ways to smooth lines, restore lost volume, and bring back a natural fullness to the face, with no surgery and no long recovery. At Dentistry Today in Huntsville, we offer dermal fillers in a calm, clinical setting, with results that look like you, only more refreshed.
Fillers are tiny gel injections placed just under the skin. Many are made from hyaluronic acid, a substance your body already makes that holds onto water and keeps skin plump. As we age we lose this natural cushion, and that is when folds, hollows, and thin lips start to show. A filler gently replaces what time takes away. Treatments are quick, results show up fast, and there is little downtime.
There are many different substances that are FDA-approved and used as dermal fillers. At Dentistry Today, you have two paths to a refreshed look:
| Synthetic HA Filler | Natural PRF Bio-Filler | |
|---|---|---|
| Made from | FDA-approved hyaluronic acid gel | Your own blood (platelet-rich fibrin) |
| Source | Made in a lab | Comes from you, rather than a synthetic material |
| How it works | Restores volume and smooths lines right away | Restores volume and encourages your skin to rebuild over time |
| Best for | A proven, predictable refresh | The most natural-feeling option we offer |
The biggest advantage of a bio-filler is right there in the name: it comes from you. Because it is your own tissue, there is far less for your body to react to than with a synthetic product. For people who want the most natural-feeling option, PRF bio-fillers are a genuinely different path, and they call for sterile blood handling on site.

By placing the right product at the right depth, fillers can soften lines, lift areas that have flattened with age, and restore the gentle curves of a younger face. Common concerns fillers can help with include:
Every face is different, so we never use a one-size template. At your consultation we look at how your face moves, where you have lost volume, and what you most want to change, then recommend a plan and confirm it with you before anything is done. You will always know the plan and approve it first.
Lips are one of the most-requested filler areas. Our goal with lip filler is balance: a little more fullness, a smoother shape, and a softer border, while still looking completely like your own lips. Because hyaluronic acid holds water, lips look hydrated and naturally plump rather than stiff or “done.”
If you are after something even more subtle, ask about a Botox treatment that relaxes the muscle along the upper lip so it gently rolls outward, showing a little more of your natural lip. Whatever you choose, we start small and build, because you can always add a little more later but you cannot easily take it back.

Choosing where you have fillers done matters just as much as choosing what gets injected. Dentistry Today is a clinical practice, not a retail counter, which matters for two reasons. First, the face sits on top of muscle, bone, and blood vessels, and a clinical environment treats that anatomy with the care it deserves. Second, natural bio-fillers in particular require real medical-grade infrastructure, a centrifuge and sterile blood handling, the kind of setup a working clinical practice already has and a walk-in med-spa usually does not.

If you have never had filler before, here is how a visit goes:
Fillers are a medical treatment rather than a beauty product, so it helps to know what is normal, what is not, and what to do about either.
The first day or two. Most people go straight back to their usual routine. General guidance is to leave the treated area alone rather than pressing or massaging it, to skip strenuous exercise, saunas and hot tubs for the first day or so, and to go easy on alcohol, which can make bruising more likely. You will be given aftercare instructions for your own treatment at your appointment, and those come first.
What is usually normal. Mild swelling, tenderness, redness at the injection points and small bruises are common in the first few days and typically settle on their own. Firmness or small lumps can show up early and often soften as the filler settles. If something still looks uneven once the settling period has passed, it can usually be adjusted.
When to get in touch. Contact us promptly if you have pain that worsens rather than eases, skin that turns pale, dusky or mottled, swelling that spreads or looks unusual, or any change in your vision. These are uncommon, but they are the ones worth acting on quickly rather than waiting to see.
When it is better to wait. Treatment is usually postponed if you have an active skin infection or a cold sore in the area, and during pregnancy or nursing as a precaution. Tell us about blood thinners, recent dental work, and any history of cold sores or of a previous reaction to a filler, because any of those can change the timing or the plan.
How long it lasts. Depending on the product used, results may last from around six months to two years. Areas that move a lot, such as the lips, tend not to hold as long as firmer areas, and many patients plan a small touch-up before the effect fades completely.
Price is one of the first things people want to know, and we are upfront about it. The total depends on which option you choose and how many syringes your goals call for, so the only accurate number is the one you get after a consultation. We give you a clear, written quote before any treatment begins, so you are never surprised, and we are happy to talk through payment options to help you spread the cost.
A note worth keeping in mind: with injectables, the cheapest option is rarely the best value. You are paying for the skill of the person injecting and the safety of the setting, and that is exactly where your money should go.
